Spring Clothes – Trending & Age Appropriate Part 2

In Part 2 of my spring clothes series I am focusing on White House Black Market. WHBM began in 1985 as the White House and ten years later Black Market opened. In 1997 the two stores merged and was acquired by Chico’s FAS in 2003. They are committed to producing real fashion without the designer price tag. They also put a lot of emphasis on their fit – all their collections “undergo a series of rigorous tests to ensure the fabric fits real women’s bodies. Each piece is worn, washed and tweaked to perfection—from seam to hem to hardware—no detail is overlooked.”

I didn’t start shopping at WHBM until I was in my 50’s! I find most of their styles work well for both young and mature women alike. In fact, former First Lady Michelle Obama wore one of their dresses during an appearance on The View!

Frankly, I’m not terribly impressed with their Spring Collection tops. Usually WHBM has too many fabulous tops! There were a lot of off-the-shoulder tops which I find a pain to wear because strapless bras are very uncomfortable. Although I would consider wearing one for date night with Sir CB.

How cute would one of the floral sweaters be with slacks or a skirt for the office?! A skinny belt and a statement necklace – Springtime chic!

There are so many cold shoulder tops and blouses this season. Most of them are just ‘meh’ but the buttons on the sleeve caught my eye with this one and it comes in 5 colors. Plus it has ruching which is so flattering. On sale – BOGO 50% off!

I’ve been seeing quite a few bell sleeves this year and WHBM has some cute ones! Just watch your sleeves around fire and food…

WHBM always has a great selection of pants and jeans. They have regular, petite and tall lengths plus a “curvy” fit in sizes 00-16.

Lots of Spring color to love in these pants and skirts! Give your work clothes some pizzazz by swapping out the pants or skirt with one of these. A casual top and flats for running errands on the weekend. A dressy top, some bling, and heels and you’ve got a sassy evening outfit. So many possibilities!!

Pants and skirts are on sale – buy 1 get 1 50% off!!!

I own several pairs of WHBM shoes. Like their clothes, their shoes have a consistent fit. If you’re like me and and prefer heels that are less than 3 1/2″ go for the Ella pumps. The Olivia pumps are about 3 3/4″ high.

Right now all the jewelry is 30% off! What are you waiting for?

A quick and easy way to add a little Spring to your outfit is with a scarf. I especially like to wear a scarf if I’m wearing a rather bland solid colored top. Adds a little sass to my outfit!

A jacket, vest or shrug is a great topper that not only keeps you warm but also adds a little color. Even if the Springtime weather is warm, air conditioned offices and restaurants aren’t! Break up your work suits by switching out the jacket. The double breasted vest (in 3 colors) would look equally great with slacks for work or jeans on the weekend. How charming is that shrug over a dress? And it comes in 4 colors! The lightweight parka comes in pink and green and is perfect for throwing over leggings. And that floral bomber!! Best of all they’re 30% off!!!

If you missed Part 1 you can read it here. I hope I’ve inspired you to wear more trendy spring clothes while being age appropriate. If you have a favorite store that you’d like me to check out, please let me know in the comments below!

By the way, I was not compensated by White House Black Market for this post. All drooling over the clothing and opinions are my own.
